Organ Donation
Wife's Story

Toyota 4Runner Topsites

My wife was diagnoses with a liver disease in 1991. Her diagnoses was Primary Sclerosis Cholangitis. What this meant is tgat my wife would some day require a liver from a donor.

This time came for us in Early 2004. We woke one January morning with her being very yellow with swollen legs. The highs and lows that came and went were very hard for her and for me. By mid spring she was getting blood tranfusions and Albumin twice a week just to keep her stable enough until a donor liver arrived.

The day came on August 9, 2004 when we received teh call of a matching donor liver. Looking back on this and the emotional highs and lows, the unknowns of if she would ever get a donor liver - it hardly seems real. Really I have a hard time writing about it. We are so lucky and greatful of this person.

What the donor meant to us.
This person, we hear came from a motorcycle accident, saved not only my wifes life, but allowed her to carry and deliver a healthy baby boy. From his choice to become a donor we have many more years together raising our son.

I have a link to the left of every page. If you are interested in being a donor please read the information from the link and share this with your family. You never know, from a tragic event, you can save many families.
